Research Abstract |
For promoting physical activity in obese children, intervention programs composed of health check and health education was conducted in public schools in O city for 3 years. Before and after the intervention program, anthropometric measurement, serum lipids, pulse wave velocity were obtained. The program had good effects for both obese and slender children. It seemed to improve life styles in children including sleep time, which resulted in an improvement of abdominal circumferences, serum lipids and pulse wave velocity. The results indicated that sleep had important role in life style improvement in addition to the nutrition and physical activity. The conduction of intervention program seemed to have good effects not only on the improvement of obesity but also on the development of motor skills and intellectual activities.
