Research Abstract

Chromosome numbers are examined in a total of 342 cultivated taxa both of Japanese apricots and flowering apricots. In the 342 taxa, 273 taxa were diploids, 10 taxa of 'Sakurakagami', 'Sakura', 'Someinotsuki', 'Hakubotan', 'Miyuki', 'Toyadeno-taka', 'Nishikisho-toyadeno-taka', 'Okitsuakabana', 'Saju', and 'Hizen-ko' were triploids, and the two taxa of 'Takasago' and 'Musashino' had both diploid and triploid plants. The other 330 taxa were all diploid plants.
