Research Abstract |
Oaths were legal as well as religious phenomena in Ancient Near East. They played, therefore, many roles in many spheres in ancient times. In this research, through the review of specific parts of Akkadian texts related to such oaths, especially the "Oath Documents of Esarhaddon," these varied functions are revealed
