| Research Abstract |
In this study, I solved most of the Christian actual situation in Okinawa of the late 1940s. The history of Christianity of this time was a blank until now. I overcame that by collecting new historical documents. And, this study is the first one that clarified history of Christianity in Miyako and Yaeyama. By methodology called the History of Trans-regional Contacts of Christianity, relationship of the missionary work in Okinawa, Miyako and Yaeyama became clear. In addition, I proved that Christianity of the whole Ryukyu Islands changed by the trans-regional contacts between Japanese mainland, Taiwan and the United States.
