Research Abstract

「反復」の概念を中心に、中英語韻文ロマンスの表現の特徴を探った。(1) Havelok the Dane, King Horn等の作品を取りあげ、ロマンスにおける詩行の始まり方に係る文体的効果を調査した。(2)中世英国ロマンスの「異界」の要素を現代アメリカの通俗小説に辿ることを試みた。(3)ヨーロッパ建築のスタイルと中性英国ロマンスの文体の関係を研究した。
