| Research Abstract |
磁気多層膜は中性子の磁気散乱ポテンシャルを制御することにより、中性子のスピン状態を選別する偏極素子としても使用できる。磁気多層膜を中性子偏極デバイスとして使用するためには、磁性膜が飽和している必要があり、外部磁場が必要となる。この外部磁場を小さくするには磁性的にソフトであることが重要で、最近純鉄(純度99.99%)を用いてその界面に0.5nmだけシリコンをスパッタすることで磁化特性が良くなることを発見し、m=4.9で偏極率94%以上、反射率70%以上の磁気多層膜スーパーミラーの開発に成功し、我々の装置の限界(φ200mm)まで再現性良く製作出来る成膜プロセスのレシピを確立した。またビームラインを変更しない透過型偏極ミラーの開発の開発にも着手し、m=4の透過型偏極スーパーミラーの開発に成功し、そして実際の分光器への適用、特に新しい分光法であるMIEZE分光器のキーパーツの一つとして適用し、実際に製作した偏極ミラーの有用性を示した。
