| Research Abstract |
海水ウナギは海水を飲まなければ生きてゆけないが、飲水行動は末梢で生じたペプチドホルモンによってコントロルされている。ホルモンの脳内作用部位として大細胞性視索前核・前隆起核・最後野が考えられるが、これらの神経活動を安定して測定する手法を開発した。またイソトシンが飲水行動を調節していることを発見した。さらに延髄から出て、食道の筋肉を収縮させる神経を同定し、この神経束に胃からの感覚神経が含まれることを見つけた。
