Research Abstract

本研究では、まず海産プランクトンに対し、様々な条件の下でアグロバクテリウムを感染させ、その遺伝子導入を試みたが、形質転換体を得ることは出来なかった。そこで、海産藻類感染性ウイルスに由来するプロモーターを新たに用い、これを組み込んだ形質転換用プラスミドを構築した。本プラスミドを用いることにより、中心目珪藻種や羽状目珪藻種に対し、目レベルを超えて形質転換が可能であることが判明した。本結果は、海産藻類ウイルス由来のプロモーターの形質転換系への適用事例として、世界初の成果である。
