Research Abstract

牛乳房に感染した黄色ブドウ球菌が産生するスーパー抗原が乳房炎症あるいはその重症化に関与している可能性が示唆された。実際の黄色ブドウ球菌感染では、乳房内で感染巣を形成した細菌がスーパー抗原を産生し、そこに存在するT細胞がスーパー抗原によって非特異的に活性化され、その刺激により産生されるサイトカイン(特にIFN-γ)の作用を受けてBMECのIL-15遺伝子の発現上昇が起こり、その結果として炎症の誘導あるいは重篤化が起こるという機序の可能性が示唆された。
