Research Abstract

GeneChipにより網羅的に採取した概日振動遺伝子群の中で、発現が組織特異的で且つ機能が特に注目される遺伝子改変動物を計7種類作製した。そのひとつRGS遺伝子の発現を抑制する2種の独立のノックダウンマウスを作製した。双方のマウスに共通して、活動リズムの周期変化、肝臓、膵臓の病理学的異常と糖代謝異常などを認めた。以上の結果より、概日時計に関与する新規のシグナル伝達系の存在が示唆された。
