Research Abstract

増殖糖尿病網膜症の病因にはサイトカインVEGFが主要な役割を担い、その発現には転写因子HIFが関与しているが、前骨髄球性白血病腫瘍抑制因子(PML)はHIFの発現低下、血管新生の抑制を引き起こすとされている。今回、増殖糖尿病網膜症や血管新生を伴わない疾患の増殖膜を採取し、HIF、PMLの発現をmRNAレベル、蛋白レベルで検索し、増殖糖尿病網膜症においてHIFの発現亢進とPMLの発現低下が起こっていることを示した。今回の研究結果は、将来的にPMLの増殖糖尿病網膜症の血管新生を抑制する治療薬としての可能性を模索する第一歩となると思われる。
