Research Abstract

閉塞型睡眠時無呼吸症候群(OSAS)の治療の第一選択は鼻マスク式持続陽圧呼吸あるいは口腔内装置である。両治療法は器具や装置の使用で気道を広げ呼吸を補助するのみで、継続により病態が改善することはない。本研究は、周期的な電気的筋刺激によるトレーニングでオトガイ舌筋の活性と緊張度の維持を促し、睡眠時の無呼吸を改善できるかを調査した。本トレーニング単独で十分な治療効果を得ることは難しいが、現行の治療法の補助的意義は高いと考えられた。
