Research Abstract |
A questionnaire survey was performed concerning the spirituality of elderly people of Japan, Korea, and China to develop a spirituality model of East Asian elderly people as a step prior to the evaluation of spirituality-oriented nursing intervention for care supporting the elderly QOL. First, a spirituality scale (6-factor, 2-subfactor model) for elderly people was prepared on the basis of the results of a questionnaire survey involving Japanese subjects. Next, by applying this scale, characteristics common among elderly of the 3 countries and those specific to Japanese elderly were examined.
