Research Abstract |
新生児の未熟な脳においては、成人の脳とは決定的に性質が異なっていることをわれわれは現在まで明らかにしてきた。また新生児脳障害には体温(感受性が非常に高い)、感染(絨毛羊膜炎など臨床的によく経験される)など成人の脳障害とは異なる成因の存在が示唆されている。われわれはこれらの点に着目し、炎症のマーカーとして用いられているCRPが新生児脳障害の増悪因子として働いている可能性を見出した。また、βラクタム系の抗生物質を母体に用いることにより胎児虚血低酸素に対する耐性を得ることが出来うることを示唆し、成人とは違う予防法および治療法の存在とその開発につながる基礎的データを示した。この未熟脳に特有な性質や障害に着目した報告は非常に少ない。
