Research Abstract |
It is well known that Toyota's workplace is closely and meticulously integrated into the management. But there is no comparative study of shopfloor in Japanese companies. This project is to make research and compare management control processes and patterns of foremen's mentality and behavior at Toyota and Nissan. It is true that Toyota's managerial control is of deep penetration of workplace. But it is not only by institutions specific to Toyota but also by culture unique to it. And the disorder and disturbance that were probably related to quality problems were also observed in manufacturing plants in Toyota.
