Research Abstract |
An efficient catalytic system for oxidant-free oxidation of alcohols has been developed by using group 9 metal complexes having functional ligands (hydroxypyridines, aminopyridines, and phenylpyridines) as catalysts. Various secondary and primary alcohols were converted to corresponding ketones and aldehydes, respectively, by catalytic dehydrogenative transformation. The present catalytic system exhibited the highest activity for dehydrogenative oxidation of alcohols among the reported systems.
