Research Abstract |
In Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Philippine and Thailand, the institutional framework is being reformed toward decentralization and participatory planning, while various challenges and opportunities can be observed. At the same time, more development actors are actively working by expanding their social network. International donors, too, has started to support these actors. Particularly for Japan, the experience of machizukuri can be suggestive.
