Research Abstract

多細胞生物の体は、上皮細胞シートによって覆われ異なる環境に分けられる。タイトジャンクションと呼ばれる細胞接着装置がバリアを構築し、様々な異なるコンパートメントの維持に機能している。発生過程や組織のターンオーバー、細胞分裂時など上皮細胞がダイナミックに動く際には、タイトジャンクションは崩壊および再編成されるが、そのメカニズムは不明であった。本研究では、タイトジャンクションがいかにバリアを維持しつつ分解及び再編成されるのか、そのメカニズムを明らかにした。
