Research Abstract

シロイヌナズナの葉緑体分裂変異株を用いた解析から、9つの新規葉緑体分裂遺伝子を同定した。そのうちの1つは、葉緑体分裂面の決定に必要な植物特異的な遺伝子MCD1 であった。この遺伝子産物はシアノバクテリアの細胞分裂面決定機構に由来する因子MinD と相互作用して葉緑体分裂面の決定に関わることがわかった。このことは宿主植物細胞が葉緑体分裂面決定機構を調節するために新たな因子を加えたことを示唆する。
