本研究はタイにおけるイスラームの新旧グループの特性と多様な思想を明らかにし、対立構造を解明するものである。「カナ・カオ」、「カナ・マイ」の新旧グループは二分法で捉えられる傾向にあるが、各グループには様々なイスラーム思想を持った人々が属している。また、各グループの捉え方が人々により異なるため、両グループを二分法で論じることはタイのイスラームの本来の姿を見誤せることになる。そこで本研究では「カナ・カオ」、「カナ・マイ」についての主観的・客観的な捉え方を調査し、両グループにはどのような思想が包摂され、それらの思想がどのように摩擦を起こし、対立グループから排除されているのかを読み解くことを目指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research project, I have conducted a research about the group concepts of "Kana Kao" (old group) and "Kana Mai" (new group) in order to elucidate the various Islamic ideologies of each group. Furthermore, I aimed to clarify how these ideologies generate friction and lead to exclusion from opposing groups. As a result of this research, the following points were primarily clarified: (1) the group concepts of "Kana Kao" and "Kana Mai" and their transition, and the mechanism of generating friction and conflict between both groups, (2) the friction, conflict and coexistence among "Saai Sufi" (currents of Sufism), "Kana Kao" and "Kana Mai," and regional differences, and (3) "Kana Kao" and "Kana Mai" in the Shia Islamic society.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では、タイのイスラーム研究において主な対象とされてこなかった宗派・学派や思想に焦点を当て、新旧グループである「カナ・カオ」と「カナ・マイ」の対立を媒介にして、それぞれのグループに包摂される様々な思想を明らかにし、それら思想の関係と対立を生じさせる図式を解明した。これは、タイのイスラーム研究における視点の拡大に寄与するものといえる。また、「カナ・カオ」と「カナ・マイ」に付随して明らかになったタイのスーフィズムやシーア派に関する研究成果は、既存のタイのイスラーム研究ではほとんど扱われることがなかったテーマであり、タイのイスラーム研究に新たな方向性を提示することができた。
