| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では、従軍期間が長く、戦後は国際連携や平和活動に尽力した作家火野葦平を取り上げ、海外の研究者とも協力し多角的かつグローバルな視点で戦争とそれに連続する戦後問題を研究する。本研究は、未だ知られていない、火野の『従軍手帖』、『日記』、書簡、などの貴重な自筆文献記録資料を扱う。まずは、それらを翻刻、公開し、戦時中、そして戦後まもなくの、知られざる火野の「記憶」を「記録」から呼び起こし、戦争中や戦後に何があったのか、従軍作家として何を考えたのかなどを検討する。さらに、火野の文学や言説と比較対照して検討し、作品を詳細に分析し文学に内包されたテーマを探ることで、新たな知見を開く。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The results of this research will focus on (1) The study of the Kappa folklore works, (2)， War-related research, and (3) Post-war research. In 1, the work "Soba no Hana" was studied. In (2)research was conducted on the Yunnan-Fukong operation, the unpublished memoirs of Hino, "Sankyou Doku-go", were transcribed and commented on, and records of Hino's visit to the war criminal management facility in Fushun were examined. Additionally, an international symposium titled "Negotiating War and Literature: From Antiquity to Modern Times" was held, and a results report was published. In(3)， a Hino Ashihei exhibition commemorating the sixtieth anniversary of his death was held at the Kitakyushu Literature Museum, along with an invited lecture at the same venue.

『戦争と文学の交渉―古代から近現代へ―』(関西大学出版会)を刊行し、また、火野葦平関連の講演を行い、広く一般市民や国内外の研究者に向けて発信することができた。
