本研究課題は、国立・私立小学校を志望する家族の社会階層、教育意識・志望理由の変容が学校組織や学校経営に与えた影響を、この20年の定点観察を通じて明らかにする。申請者が2000年に実施した国立・私立小学校を志望する保護者対象の質問紙調査に新規の項目を追加した質問紙調査を2020年に追施、両者を時系列的に比較し、小学校受験層の社会階層や教育意識の変化を捉える。この20年の間、学校を取り巻く環境は大きく変容し、学校に対する保護者の教育期待や要望は著しく多様化した。私立小学校のなかには、志願者がほとんど減少しない学校の一方、存亡の危機に直面する学校も少なくない。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research project is to observe, from a fixed point over the past 20 years, the effects of changes in social security, educational awareness, and current reasons for families to prioritize national or private primary schools on school organization and management. In 2021, I added new items to the questionnaire survey of parents focused on national and private elementary schools, which was conducted in 2000, and compared them chronologically. As a result of the analysis, over the past 20 years, education has changed significantly due to the circumstances of the families and the environment, and the expectations and demands of parents toward schools have become considerably more diverse.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的・社会的意義は、国立・私立小学校の受験や入試をめぐる家族の社会階層、保護者の教育態度・意識の変化を、質問紙調査を通じて明らかにし、一連の変化が国立・私立小学校の組織や経営に及ぼした影響を「多様化」として捉え、この20年の定点観察から検討することである。調査研究で得られた実証的な知見は、いわゆる学会発表や学術論文などの学界にとどめることなく、初等教育や私学政策に対して政策提言を目指してきた。各学校の学校経営に対し、研究上の知見を提供・共有することで、健全な学校運営に向けた学校組織改革の提案を行うなど、積極的な社会貢献を志向している点が、本研究課題の独創的かつ創造的な特質である。
