ケアリングは対個人を中心にした理論としてとらえられることが多く、コミュニティへのケアリングは世界的にも明らかにされていない。研究者らは、コミュニティを対象としたケアリングについて理論を開発することを目指している。本研究は，コミュニティに関するケアリングについて，保健師のコミュニティに対するケアリングの技術的能力（Public Health Nurse's Technical Competency as Caring in community : PHNCC）を明らかにし，測定尺度を開発するとともに，申請者らが開発したコミュニティ・ケアリングモデル(案)を検証することを目的とする

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to create and verify a model of caring as practiced by public health nurses, to clarify the technical capabilities of community caring, and to develop a measurement scale for those capabilities. By the final year, we had clarified caring as practiced by public health nurses, created and verified a model, and clarified the technical capabilities of community caring. However, we were unable to develop and verify a measurement scale, so we plan to continue our research toward the development of such a scale.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
ケアリングの理論は世界中の看護職が基盤にしているものであるが、個を対象しているという考え方が多く、コミュニティを対象としたケアリングについて言及しているものは少ない。保健師は、コミュニティを対象とし、コミュニティの健康を向上するための活動を行う。そのため、保健師の活動において、コミュニティへのケアリングは基盤となるものである。しかしこれまで明らかにされていなかった。今回明らかにした保健師のコミュニティへのケアリングモデルや技術的能力は、保健師活動の基盤となり、コミュニティの健康の構築に寄与するものと考える。
