Outline of Research at the Start

自己安定の概念を基礎におき, 大規模な分散システムを対象としたネットワーク変動に対する高度な自律性と適応性を実現する分散アルゴリズムの基礎理論に関する研究を行う。特に分散システム内のノードは対等で、集中制御を行う特別なノードが無く、ノード総数が極めて膨大である分散システムを主な研究の対象とする。現在の無線ワイヤレスセンサネットワークの規模や, IoTデバイスが単にデータ収集サーバとデータ送受信するだけの限定的なノード数や相互作用パターンを大きく越えて、大規模数のノードが対等に相互作用する分散システムの設計技法の研究を行なう。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,自己安定の概念を基礎におき大規模な分散システムを対象として,ネットワーク変動に対する高度な自律性と適応性を実現する分散アルゴリズムの基礎理論に関するものである.特に分散システム内のノードは対等で,集中制御を行う特別なノードが無く,ノード総数が極めて膨大である分散システムを主な研究の対象とする.現在,無線ワイヤレスセンサネットワークではひとつのシステムにおいては数十程度の規模であるが,本研究の目的は,このような限定的なノード数を大きく越えて,大規模数のノードが対等に相互作用する自律的な分散システムの設計技法の確立を目指す研究である.
2023年度は主に,(1) マイナス支配集合問題の一般化,および,(2) 2極小支配集合問題について,これらの問題に対する自己安定分散アルゴリズムの開発に取り組んで幾つかの成果を上げ,査読付きの論文誌で発表を行った.
(1) マイナス支配集合問題の一般化に関する研究では,すでに知られているマイナス支配集合問題に対してマイナス(L,K,Z)支配集合問題という一般化の提案を2022年度に本研究課題で行ったが,それを更に一般化した bounded lattice domination 問題を2023年度に提案した.これはすでに知られている様々な支配集合問題の変形を包括的に表現できる枠組みであり,bounded lattice domination 問題に対する自己安定分散アルゴリズムを提案した.
(2) 2極小支配集合問題とはグラフ理論における極小支配集合問題の一種であり,最適化の観点では準最適であるが,その最適性を極小の場合よりも改善したものが2極小である.2極小な支配集合は,グラフの各頂点の周囲の頂点間で集合への所属を交代させることで求まるため,分散システムでの実現は比較的容易であり,様々な応用に効率よく実現できる利点がある.

Reason

2023年度は (1) 支配集合問題の様々な一般化を包括的に表現する bounded lattice domination 問題を提案し,bounded lattice domination 問題に対する自己安定分散アルゴリズムを提案した.これによりすでに知られている支配集合の様々な変形問題に対する自己安定分散アルゴリズムが構成できたことになり,その意義は大きい.(2) 2極小支配集合問題については,ループ合成法という手法でアルゴリズム設計を行い,その正しさの証明を終えることができた.いずれも査読付きの論文誌で公表することができた.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2022年度が当初の最終年度としていたが,研究期間を通して新型コロナウイルスの関係により十分に研究が遂行できたとは言い難く,期間延長の申請を2回行ってきている.2024年度を最終年度として,引き続き支配集合および独立の一般化問題の検討と,計算複雑度の観点で優れた自己安定分散アルゴリズムの開発を進めたい.
