Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research aimed to explore how English medium programs as an internationalization strategy have been contextualized, introduced and sustained/expanded at higher education institutions in Japan and Korea. In addition, it aimed to construct sustainable frameworks for English medium programs not only in Japan but also in non-English speaking countries. It found out how Global 30 universities have sustained/expanded their programs and what kinds of challenges and opportunities they have faced after the end of the funding cycle. Also by comparing the findings in Japan with the ones in Korea, this research findings would be useful not only for Japanese higher education institutions but also higher education institutions in other non-English speaking countries.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
