| Outline of Research at the Start |
術後疼痛に対する運動療法が鎮痛効果を発揮することが知られているが、適切な運動条件が定まっていないこと、また運動により蓄積する乳酸の影響が問題となる。運動療法における筋肉の乳酸代謝の役割は不明であり、本研究では、乳酸代謝を指標として乳酸と術後疼痛の関係および術後疼痛に対する運動療法の最適化を図り、従来確立してきた術後疼痛モデルを使用し、今まで明らかにしてきた乳酸の特性に基づいて研究を遂行する。本研究成果により、運動療法の最適化が術後患者の早期回復につながり、乳酸代謝に着目した術後疼痛に対する新規治療薬の開発にも応用されると考える。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To clarify mechanisms underlying postoperative pain targeting on lactate metabolism and optimize of the exercise therapy, we investigated changes of the postoperative pain thresholds by lactate injections, the differences on analgesic effects between exercise intensity and the relations between exercise therapy and lactate metabolism. we suggested that planter subcutaneous injection of lactate decreased the pain threshold in postoperative pain model mice and that low-intensity exercise had no effect on the postoperative pain.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
術後疼痛は患者にとって大きな苦痛であり、術後の回復やリハビリにも大きく影響する。本研究の成果により、術後疼痛モデルマウスの疼痛閾値に対する乳酸や運動療法の効果の検証は、今後乳酸代謝に着目した術後疼痛メカニズムの解明や術後患者の早期回復に向けた新規治療薬の開発にも応用されると考える。
