| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究の目的は人間の社会構造における多様性の発生要因および発生過程を，とくに格差に注目して長期的スケールで説明可能なモデルを構築することである．具体的には，(1) 文化人類学の手法によって入手した個人間の相互作用に関するデータに基づきゲーム理論モデルを構築し，集団レベルの格差の拡大や縮小が説明可能かを検討する．(2) そうした相互作用から，自然人類学・考古学的な時間スケールで起こる社会構造の変化，とりわけ格差の現れ方の多様性などが説明可能かを検討する．そのための研究戦略として，モンゴルとナミビアと いう非工業化社会の現地調査に基づく独自の民族誌データセットに依拠する．

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to develop a model that explains the mechanisms and processes of diversity and inequality in human societies over the long term. Using field data from Mongolia, it empirically demonstrated that natural disasters exacerbate inequality in livestock ownership, confirming increases in the Gini coefficient, widening disparities among small-scale herder households, and difficulties in recovery. Mathematical modeling was also pursued, and a new model incorporating the Allee effect was proposed. Furthermore, through semi-structured interviews and longitudinal livestock panel analyses, the study identified factors contributing to the expansion of economic inequality and recovery potential after disasters.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、極端気象と社会格差の関係を解明することを通じ、災害が家畜所有で測った社会的格差を拡大し、小規模世帯ほど回復が困難となる実態を明らかにした。フィールド調査、データ分析、数理モデルの構築を組み合わせ、格差拡大の仕組みを理論的・実証的に示した。これにより、災害リスクが社会的弱者に与える影響を理解するための基礎的知見を提供し、今後の災害対策や社会政策の立案に役立つ成果を得た。
