Outline of Research at the Start

本国際共同研究では、日本・オランダ・シンガポールの各研究グループが独自に有するマイクロ・ナノテクノロジー、デバイス技術、エクソソーム分離・解析、エクソソーム高機能化、単一細胞アッセイ、細胞スフェロイドアッセイの各要素技術を結集して融合することで、再生医療やがん免疫療法に応用可能な高機能ハイブリッドエクソソームを創製する。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

Kyushu University collaborated with Twente University and the National University of Singapore to develop high-encapsulation hybrid exosomes using microfluidic technology for mRNA and other substances. They also established a system to analyze gene delivery efficiency in 3D intestinal spheroids. Over the course of more than 14 months, young researchers were sent to Twente University to gain the necessary technical expertise. Additionally, derivative technologies were developed, including sponge monolith columns for cancer stem cell separation and multi-spheroid chips. This collaboration resulted in 27 papers and proceedings, 38 invited lectures, and the cultivation of four individuals as potential principal investigators (PIs) over a six-year period.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究成果は、微細加工と生体分子工学を融合した新規ハイブリッドエクソソーム製造法を確立し、細胞遺伝子導入・がん幹細胞解析の感度を大幅向上させ、エクソソーム研究の枠組みを拡張して学術的ブレイクスルーを生み出した。社会的には、高効率mRNA/siRNA送達や迅速診断チップへの実装を通じて再生医療・免疫療法を加速し、難治疾患の治療選択肢拡大とバイオ産業の国際競争力強化に寄与した。
