Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では，USDAの保有する多様なサザンハイブッシュブルーベリーの遺伝資源を活用し，高品質品種の開発を加速化するための基盤整備を行う．認知科学の手法を取り入れ，嗜好・分析型の官能評価試験を実施し，高品質果実生産のための品種育成に活用する．また，ゲノムワイドな解析によりサザンハイブッシュブルーベリーの育種成立過程を解明する．さらに果実の生化学的特性に基づいてゲノム多型と嗜好性要因を紐付けする．ゲノムワイドな解析は，開花期など暖地栽培に関連する農業形質の解明にも適用する．以上より，日本独自の高品質ブルーベリー育成のための育種体系を確立し，消費者を指向する暖地適応型ブルーベリー育種に応用する．

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は，アメリカ農務省（USDA）のSouthern Horticultural Research Unit（SHRU）のBabiker研究員と行う5年間の共同研究である．最終年度である本年度の具体的な研究成果は以下の通りである．
USDA-SHRUが所有する南部HB遺伝資源およびF1集団について，これまで合計4年間にわたって、5種の果実形質（果実重、糖度、pH、硬度、アントシアニン含量）をBabiker研究員と共同で調査した．これらの形質は比較的高い遺伝率を示したが，GWAS解析を行ったところ，年次間のデータで安定して検出されるピークは得られなかった．そこで，新たに個体別の表現型の安定性を評価するための統計手法を適用し，異なる環境で安定した品質で栽培可能な遺伝子型の特性に関する知見を得た．これらの結果の取りまとめに着手した．
南部HB 10品種，北部HB 4品種，RE 7品種を供試し,香りの分析型官能評価をおこなった．官能評価は，あらかじめ訓練された9名をパネルとして，定量的記述分析法を適用し， 7項目の香り強度を20段階で評価した．揮発性成分の分析には，固相マイクロ抽出法を用い，GC-MSで分析を行った．南部HBおよび北部HBは特徴的な香りを有する品種が多い傾向があった．一方RE品種は全体的に香りが弱い傾向にあった．フルーティーな香りは全体の嗜好性と正の相関（r = 0.57）を示した．GC-MS分析により検出された揮発性成分（41種類）の定量値を用いて，主成分分析を行った結果，第1主成分はエステル類，第2主成分はアルデヒド類とモノテルペン類の因子負荷量が高く，それらの量や組み合わせによって異なる香り特性を有すると考えられた．PLS解析により，重要度変数（VIP値）を用いて各香り特性に関連する揮発性成分を特定した．
