| Outline of Research at the Start |
マダガスカルの食事はコメの消費に偏っており、栄養不足や栄養バランスの不均衡がみられる。消費者の嗜好や行動に注目し栄養改善のモチベーションを探る基課題に対し、本国際共同研究では、実際に消費している食品をベースとして栄養改善に貢献する食生活指針を策定することを目的とする。つまり現在の食環境の特性を示し、栄養素供給の過不足を同定し、建設的な解決策を導く。各国・地域に固有の食環境に注目し、発育阻害の軽減に取り組む研究者と共同研究を行うことで、食環境評価の精度向上や効率化がみこめる。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In rural Madagascar, malnutrition and unbalanced diets are serious problems. This study aims to develop dietary guidelines tailored to local context. A scoping review was conducted to examine cases of dietary guidelines in African countries that employed mathematical optimization, demonstrating the applicability of linear programming. Using household survey data and with input from UK-based collaborators, the study employed mathematical models to identify combinations of locally available foods suitable for nutritional improvement. Additionally, consumer behavior characteristics were considered to explore feasible and acceptable interventions.

本研究は、栄養改善が急務であるマダガスカル農村部において、理想を掲げるだけでなく、現地の食環境と住民の嗜好をふまえた実行可能で持続的な食生活指針の策定に取り組んだ点に社会的・実務的な意義がある。さらに、スコーピングレビューによる事例整理や、消費者行動分析（嗜好、リスク・時間選好など）も学術的に貢献する。得られた成果は、持続可能な食料・栄養政策に関する政策提言や社会実装につながることが期待される。
