Research Abstract |
There have been many failures in mechanically anchored waterproofing systems by heavy storms. The behavior of them during a strong wind was studied through wind tunnel tests and observation in typhoons. We found out lateral force as well as uplift vertical force simultaneously acting on fixing devices. Based on the new findings, some test apparatuses were developed for estimating the wind resistance of mechanically anchored waterproofing systems.
