Research Abstract |
The objective of this study is to examine some authors in the modern French literature whose works are mainly produced by language experimental operation. To be concrete, I took up three novelists (or/and) poets : Raymond Roussel, Gherasim Luca and Georges Perec. In the first year, I went to France to do research and to gather materials and documents. I gathered especially the literature concerning the Romanian Surrealism which Gherasim Luca initially belonged to. On that occasion, I also met Francois Bon, famous French author, known by his unique style. I had an interview with him and he introduced me to the Bibliotheque de l'Arsenal, who possesses a precious collection of Georges Perec's Documents. In the second year, I wrote two articles about Raymond Roussel and Gherasim Luca. These two articles were published in the following year in Deleuze, mille litterature (edited by Kuniichi Uno, Chiaki Hori, Yasuhisa Yoshikawa, Serika Shobo, January 2011). I did, for the second time, a research trip to France too, and I held an interview with Christelle Reggiani, professor at Sorbonne University. Although young, she is a recongnized authority on Georges Perec studies. In the third and last year, I gave a presentation on Raymond Roussel at the Workshop of the Japanese Society of French Literature. In addition, I expanded my subject to a comparative study on experimental poets between Japan and France, especially Kitazono Katsue who translated the works of Paul Eluard or Raymond Radiguet.
