Research Abstract |
This study showed some building activities by some architects based in Aichi Prefecture and it evaluated them on history of architecture in Japan. On the results, it seemed five points as follows: the first is that architectural section of Aichi Prefectural Office and Nagoya City Office were gigantic rather than all of private architectural offices. The second is that some circumstances which promoted to establish private architectural offices were built up on 1920’s. The third is that the department of architecture in Nagoya Institute of Technology established in 1906 had contributed to produce a lot of capable architects in Aichi Prefecture. The fourth is that some public facilities designed by them contributed greatly to modernization of each local city. The fifth is that almost of their building activities had not reported by magazines before the Second World War.
