Research Abstract |
The effects of parental rearing on personality traits and interpersonal sensitivity were studied in healthy Japanese volunteers. Perceived parental rearing was assessed by the Parental Bonding Instrument(PBI). Personality traits and interpersonal sensitivity were assessed by the Temperament Character Inventory (TCI) and the Interpersonal Sensitivity Measure (IPSM), respectively. The present study suggests that dysfunctional parenting influences depression-related personality traits and interpersonal sensitivity of the healthy subjects, with sex specificity.
