Research Abstract |
Contemporary Japanese philosophy is trying to unify European metaphysics and Asian thought. This research explored some of its fundamental concepts such as "place", "nothingness" and "image". As a result, it can be shown how Japanese philosophy, by contrast to the Chinese way of endlessly rethink its own tradition, or to the Western speculation, aiming at the teleological ideal of science since the Greek source, has made a seminal contribution to the coming philosophy of the 21^<th> century
