Research Abstract |
Various cross-linked polymers derived from divinyl compounds have been prepared by controlled/living radical polymerization techniques. Polymerization-induced phase separation regulates well-defined macropores in the micrometer range. Porous cross-linked polymers derived from divinylbenzene have been carbonated and activated to obtain activated carbons with high specific surface areas. Macroporous activated carbons are promising for applications to electrochemical devices.
