Research Abstract |
Suppression of DGAT2, which is highly expressed in hepatocytes, ameliorated liver steatosis but worsened liver fibrosis. This observation suggests that triglyceride synthesis helps to protect the liver from lipotoxicity by buffering FFA accumulation.
