Research Abstract |
I measured salivary free steroid hormones by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), and compared the steroid hormone levels of obesity girls to non-obesity girls. The levels of DHEA, androstenedione and testosterone in obesity girls were significantly higher than those in non-obesity girls. I think that the secretions of those androgens are increased in obesity girls as well as adult women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
