Research Abstract |
Recently, some researchers have reported that hydrogen gas has free radical scavenging effect, and they have been trying to apply hydrogen in a clinical setting as an antioxidant. In the present study, we have established methods of administering hydrogen to the body safely and appropriately, moreover, we have found that hydrogen ameliorates renal ischemia-reperfusion injury. These results have indicated that even low dose of hydrogen can produce an antioxidant effect, which has shown great potential for clinical use of hydrogen.
