Research Abstract |
This study was conducted to identify the change in the behaviour of staff towards providing support for people with intellectual disabilities, with the help of a handbook(total p. 84) and a training session. The revised edition of the handbook reflected the results of a nationwide survey of facilities. Facilities that provided support did not show a significant result with regard to the effectiveness of the handbook, but the results for facilities that did not provide support increased significantly for many activities. In facilities that provided many types of support activities for people with intellectual disabilities, the training session was more effective than the handbook.
