Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は，信仰が移民の市民参加や共生に与える影響について明らかにし，「移民と宗教」に関する研究に重要な事例を提供するとともに，理論的，方法論的貢献を果たす。この目的に向けて，以下3 点の学術的問いに焦点を当てて，南フロリダの南アジア系移民を対象としたフィールドワークを実施する。本研究の独自性は、（１）南フロリダのカリブ出身の南アジア系移民を対象とすることで、移民と宗教に関して共時的・通時的考察を同時に加えるものである、（２）人の移動と宗教の再構築という視点から南アジア起源の宗教に関する研究に貢献する、（３）宗教を基盤とするトランスナショナルな共同体、社会関係資本について考察する点にある。
