| Outline of Research at the Start |
下肢筋力増強にアンクルウェイト（AW)が用いられているが、筋・関節障害なども報告されている。AWの効果は科学的評価が不十分であり、また高齢者の歩行状態の評価プログラムもない。私たちは、歩行状態を客観的に自己診断できる「3次元加速度センサー」を開発した。このAWに本センサーを内蔵すれば高齢者が歩行状態を把握し安全な自己筋肉トレーニングができる。本研究では、[A]“歩行波”の標準化による転倒リスク波形の抽出 / [B] 転倒予防策に向けたトレーニングメニューの開発を目的とする。これにより、高齢者が安全で自主的・永続的にAWを活用する環境が整い保健・看護の観点での大きな波及効果が生まれる。

[A] The gait wave data revealed that the synthesized wave from the 3D waveform to the gravity direction had time synchronization problems, making it impossible to proceed with gait analysis. [B] In cooperation with the Nagoya City Health and Welfare Bureau and Chukyo University, the Nagoya City Health and Welfare Bureau released "Nagoya Do-Erya Exercise" for citizens, which was disseminated from the Nagoya City Health and Welfare Bureau, and established a foundation for training menus. In the final year of the project, we reorganized the cohort system and submitted an ethics application in order to promote the verification of the training menu.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
超高齢社会を迎え、ロコモティブシンドローム及びフレイルの予防による介護予防は重要な課題である。ウォーキングは最も親しみやすい運動であるが、下肢の筋力増強は望めない。10年ぶりに改定された身体活動基準でも筋肉トレーニングが年代を問わず推奨されるが、高齢者への浸透は今後の課題である。足首に重りを巻き付ける器具（AW)の高齢者への使用は有効である(Fitness over fifty, 米国国立老化研究所,2006)が、転倒事故や不適切使用での健康被害が起こりうる点に注意が必要であり、それらを加味してAWを日常生活の中に組み込んでいく取り組みは重要である。
