Outline of Research at the Start

津波常襲地の海域東南アジアには、かつての船上居住民のような周縁海民が拡散居住する。周縁海民は、内陸に住む集団に比してより甚大な津波被害を被ってきた。にも拘わらず、罹災後には居住の場を再び海辺に戻すことが多い。それはかれらが海辺に住むことにより、罹災後の不確実な状況に対処しながら生活を再建する力、レジリエンスを確保しているからにほかならない。本研究では、東インドネシアと南タイの周縁海民を対象として、かれらが海辺居住により確保してきたレジリエンスのあり方を明らかにしようする。その上で最終的には、海域東南アジアの周縁海民における在地の（ヴァナキュラーな）復興の論理を析出することを目指す。
