| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究では，視線入力インタフェース技術を用いた独自の参加型認知実験パラダイムを構築し，今まで方法論的な限界により検証不可能であると考えられていた乳児の他者に対する道徳的ふるまいを明らかにすることを目的とする。本研究により，従来研究から漠然と示唆されていた乳児の道徳性の 実証が可能になるとともに，乳児の行動そのものを測るという乳児研究手法のコペルニクス 的転回が実現できると期待している。また，乳児の道徳的行動を直接観測することで，分断 が叫ばれる現代社会に横たわる様々な問題の背後に存在する道徳性や暴力性の発達的要因の解明がより進むことも期待される。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In 2020, 2021, and 2022, we conducted experiments and wrote papers, and succeeded in constructing a unique participatory cognitive experiment paradigm using eye gaze input interface technology, which was published in the high-impact journal Nature human behavior (June 2022).
A press release was issued for these results, which received a large number of responses from inside and outside of Japan. In addition, we were able to publish our research results in two domestic journals and a chapter of an academic book.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本プロジェクトの研究成果の学術的意味として，①乳児は道徳的判断だけでなく道徳的行動も行うことを実証したこと，②より一般的には今までは計測できなった乳児の“意思決定を伴う行動”を計測できたという2点が非常にインパクトの高い成果だといえる。
また，研究成果のプレスリリースを行い，国内外の新聞やテレビを通して，正しい乳児観を世間に伝えることができたことは社会的意義が高いと言える。
