Outline of Research at the Start

高速知覚情報処理技術,高速情報呈示技術,高速知覚動特性評価技術を次世代情報環境システムへ統合し,人を取り巻く情報環境の時空間密度の限界へ挑戦する.具体的には,人間の視覚を超えた高速視覚情報処理技術の開発や人間の動作をシームレスにサポートする高速情報呈示技術の開発を独自の要素技術の柱とし,その基盤として人間の時空間密度の十分性評価手法及びシステムデバイス間同期技術を開発する.最終的に,生活の質・パフォーマンスをアップする情報環境を実現するとともに,時空間情報密度を実装の極限まで高め,超高速知覚情報処理ならびにダイナミックインタラクションの学術的基盤を体系的に整備し,関連技術の応用展開を図る.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

人間の視覚を超えた高速知覚情報処理技術の確立を目指して,1)3次元形状計測によって生成したモデルを用いて,トラッキングを安定化するアルゴリズムを開発した.また,追加計測データを統合し,モデルデータ自体の高精度化を行った.2) レーザー走査方法,高速トラッキングアルゴリズム,レーザー照射被写体における仮定の再検証に取り組んだことで,前年度までに構築したシステムを広域化対応させた.
人間の動作をシームレスにサポートする高速情報・力覚呈示技術の確立を目指して,1) 前年度までに構築した計測システム・投影アルゴリズムを用いた動作支援的投影システムのプロトタイプを構築した.2) これまで構築した力覚呈示手法などを利用し,極端に異なる帯域でセンシング・制御・動作する機械と人間のダイナミックインタラクション手法を確立した.
高速知覚情報処理の基盤強靭化技術の確立を目指して,1) 映像遅延制御装置から入力映像に基づく任意映像の生成及び照射を目指し,身体変容の拡張を行った.低遅延のCGレンダリングを検討することで,時空間領域にまたがる情報呈示による影響を検討した.2) カメラネットワークにトラッキングアルゴリズムを統合し,人波トラッキングシステムのプロトタイプを構築する.加えてシミュレーションによる理想環境での性能評価を行った.
次世代情報環境システムによる時空間インタラクションにおける違和感の打破を目指して,1) 実際の応用システムを意識した高速トラッキング系を用いて,高速プロジェクタ等と組み合わせた予測情報呈示のプロトタイプシステムを構築した.2)視覚・力覚呈示などを含む多感覚呈示或いは外発による人間支援システムを構築した.また,センシング系と情報・力覚呈示系を統合し,システム全体の遅延特性と時空間密度について定量的に解析した.

1: Research has progressed more than it was originally planned.

Reason

当初予定していた研究環境における研究内容の実施が順調に進み,各研究のサブテーマ間の連携も進んだことで,当初の計画以上に発展した.具体的に,査読有りの国際論文誌では13件(前年度は同9件)の採択に至り,いずれも高速ビジョンならびに周辺技術を活用した研究であることから,本研究課題である超高速ビジョン・トラッキング技術を用いた次世代情報環境システムの要素技術が集積しつつある状況と考えられる.特にJournal of Robotics and Mechatronicsより発刊されたHigh-Speed Vision and its Applications特集号では,ほぼ全項に渡り,本研究課題に基づく研究成果が表現されるに至った.
また,今年度は3名の研究分担者が研究分担者としての応募資格を喪失するため,分担者から外れた.しかしながら,研究代表者がその3名の役割であったサブテーマサブテーマB-1「高速情報呈示技術・高速映像呈示の研究」,サブテーマB-2「人間機械協調・力覚呈示」,C-1「高速知覚情報処理の基盤強靭化技術・時空間密度評価の研究」を引き継いだ上で,適切に研究統括および個別研究を実施したことに加え,旧分担者も研究協力者として継続して精力的に研究課題に取り組んだ結果,前年度以上の研究成果である現在の進捗に至ることができた.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

人間の視覚を超えた高速知覚情報処理技術の確立を目指して,1)カメラ及びレーザードップラー装置のセンサフュージョンを実施する. 2)広域高速トラッキングにおける姿勢推定結果の再現性向上や精度向上,遮蔽への頑健性等,実応用に向けたシステム全体での改良を行う.広域トラッキングにおける主要な課題である誤差蓄積への対応方法も検討する.
人間の動作をシームレスにサポートする高速情報・力覚呈示技術の確立を目指して,1)精度向上や動作支援に役立つ情報の選定を進める.また,トラッキング技術を取り入れ,投映系と統合することで,運動や変形を伴う対象にも適用可能なDPMを実現する.2)構築したモデル等の理論解析と前述の高速ウェアラブル機械アシストデバイス及びダイナミックインタラクションインタフェースに基づく実践を行い,極端に異なる帯域でセンシング・制御・動作する人間と機械間のダイナミックインタラクション手法を確立する.
高速知覚情報処理の基盤強靭化技術の確立を目指して,1)前年度に作成したCG描画システムをもとに得られた知見を活かし,被験者実験を実施する.具体的に,自由空間上を移動する動作が必要なタスクを設定し,腕の動きや視線に連動したパフォーマンスを計測する.2)人波計測の定量的評価を通して,関連アルゴリズムや構成システムの改良を行う.特にリアルタイム性の確保に重点を置いて,システム全般の高速軽量化を進める.
次世代情報環境システムによる時空間インタラクションにおける違和感の打破を目指して1)前年度に抽出した実機の課題について,事前情報の選定自体及び統合手法を改良する.また,形状・運動計測技術と統合することで,運動や変形を伴う対象のセンシングに対応する.2)情報・力覚呈示系と人の行動のインタラクティブな変化を可能とするプロトタイプシステムを構築する.
