Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、冷戦期合州国表象文化が合州国国内で持つ諸問題を調査研究の対象とすると同時に、冷戦期合州国表象文化をソフト・パワーとして買い取り、合州国の覇権主義によって影響を被る日本の側から、視点を180度転換し合州国表象文化を読み直す、あるいは歴史的に定義し直す試みでもある。いわば、文学（史）研究とナショナリズムの関係に自覚的なNew Americanismの動向に、ソフト・パワーを受け取る側から呼応したものでもある。
