疫病発生や気候変動に伴う災いが頻発する今日、我々が災いを直視し相互主体的に生きるには、被災者の声を美化し消費する欲望に抗わねばならない。本研究は、被災の記憶が残る地から現在形で発せられる当事者の生きた声に耳を傾け記述する社会科学的実践を、すでに記述された過去の「声」に耳を傾け解釈する文学・哲学・歴史学の人文学的アプローチに接続することで、ありのままの声に耳を傾け記録・伝承するためのリテラシーと当時者意識の涵養を下支えする、理論的枠組みの言語化を目指す。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Literature offers a space for voices that are unheard in society;voices that persist even when left unspoken.This five-year research project examined whether such voices, or their subtle presences, can exist without being beautified, altered, or consumed. Regular research meetings and a collaborative radio program brought together scholars from literature, education, history, and related disciplines.
Through these activities, we came to understand that ethical listening is not about quick interpretation or assimilation. Rather, it requires remaining open to uncertainty and to what has not yet been spoken;a state of yuragi or fluctuation.
This yuragi is not something to eliminate but a necessary condition for truly receiving the voice of another. Facing the challenge of separating one’s own voice from that of others is difficult, but it constitutes a creative and innovative academic practice.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、聴かれる声の存在をアプリオリに前提とするケア研究や、声の生成と神秘主義に関する研究と隣接しつつも、それらとは異なる視点を探究した点に学術的意義がある。その意義とは、「ただ聴くこと」の難しさを認め、その重要性を肯定することである。聴くことや記録することは、語る主体から声を奪う危うさと密接に関わる。声を奪うことなく、聴き手が語り声の存在を信じて継続的に聴くことは容易でない。しかしその困難こそが、自他の言葉を明確に区別する引用形式の厳格さがそうであるのと同様に、創造的かつ革新的な学術的実践である。文学に記された声と現実の人間の声を等位に論じる可能性は、この理解の延長上にあると考えられる。
