Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、奴隷解放調書を総合的に用い、20世紀前半のペルシア湾における奴隷たちの「生」を民族誌的に明らかにすることを試みる。各証言者の性別や民族、出身地、奴隷化の経緯、職業、婚姻関係、奴隷としての売買の経験とその背景といった証言から抽出できる要素を取り出して証言群全体として得られる情報を明らかにし、それに時間軸を加味しながら、地域史的文脈、世界史的文脈にその全体像を位置づけ、それを個々の証言に立ち戻ることで得られる具体性と突き合わせる。これによって、ミクロな奴隷たちの「生」とマクロな動態とがいかに相互影響的であったのかが具体的に明らかする。
