| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究プロジェクトでは、金融市場の発展が場合によっては経済成長を阻害するという、従来の理論モデルでは説明のつかない実証結果を説明するために、新しいメカニズムを導入した動学的一般均衡モデルを構築する。また、本研究プロジェクトでは、実証研究も行うが、既存の実証研究とは違い、ただ単に金融市場の発展が経済成長を促進させるかどうかという分析にとどまらず、構築した理論モデルのメカニズムに焦点を当てて、そのメカニズムが現実の経済と整合的かどうかを分析する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research project, we aimed to construct a dynamic general equilibrium model that introduces a new mechanism to explain the empirical result that the development of financial markets can hinder economic growth in some cases, which cannot be explained by conventional theoretical models. We conducted various research studies derived from this objective, among which we conducted theoretical and empirical analysis of the possibility that institutional factors that promote or hinder the accumulation of knowledge capital and knowledge spillovers from abroad may affect the adoption of cutting-edge technologies associated with inward direct investment and therefore may also affect economic growth.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術上の意義は、動学的一般均衡モデルを応用して借入制約がどのように経済成長・景気循環に影響を与えたかを分析したことにある。研究当初の目的から派生して様々な研究を遂行し、多くの成果を得た。研究期間の前半は、金融市場が発展と景気循環の関係を分析し、借入制約を緩和すると経済が不安定化するという結果を得た。この結果は、金融制度を考える上で社会的に意義のあるものといえる。期間の後半は、対内直接投資に付随した最先端技術はどのような条件の下でうまく採択できるのかを分析した。この結果は日本のサプライチェーンの再構築のための政策的インプリケーションを得たという意味で、社会的に意義のあるものといえよう。
