| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は，精神科病院における摂食嚥下支援の充実に向け，嚥下調整食（以下，嚥下食）を継続摂取する患者の実態を把握し，院内多職種と協働で食形態改善指標を開発を目指すものである．
はじめに，精神科病院に入院中の嚥下食摂取者の状況を把握するために，実態調査を行う．調査結果から，嚥下食の改善を阻害する要因を明らかにする．
その後に，上記の施設において，院内多職種及び研究分担者でチームを結成し，食形態改善指標を開発する．並行して，摂食嚥下支援に積極的に取り組む精神科病院への見学・研修会を開催し，知識・技術を習得する．
最後に摂食嚥下障害をもつ患者に対して開発指標を用いた介入を行い，その効果を検証する．

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In psychiatric hospitals, where the aging of long-term hospitalized patients and the increase in dementia patients are progressing, improving feeding and swallowing support is an urgent issue. In many cases, dysphagia feeding is continued without any thought in order to avoid aspiration and choking, which leads to a decline in the patient's quality of life (QOL) and malnutrition. The principal researcher has often experienced the current situation of a lack of feeding and swallowing support for inpatients in psychiatric hospitals and difficulties in improving dietary habits, but there is little scientific evidence and clarification is needed.
In this study, we grasped the actual situation through interviews of patients who continue to consume dysphagia food in psychiatric hospitals without feeding and swallowing support specialists and interviews with the nurses in charge, and based on the results, we considered indicators for improving dietary habits.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の成果は、食形態改善の阻害要因を解明する根拠となり、精神科病院の限られた治療環境に即した課題解決につながる効果が期待できる。また、今後、食形態を改善するための指標（以下、食形態改善指標）を開発し、その有効性を検証する際の基礎資料となると考える。
